WICHITA FESTIVALS CANCELS JOHNATHAN GOODWIN “GREEN VEHICLE” GIVEAWAY
WICHITA, Kansas — Wichita Festivals, Inc. (WFI), a non-profit corporation with the purpose of creating diverse community celebrations, announces today the cancellation of the Johnathan Goodwin Green Vehicle Giveaway.
Wichitan Johnathan Goodwin “Going Green” car genius had partnered with Wichita Festivals, Inc. to overhaul a vehicle during the nine days of Riverfest. The overhauled vehicle was scheduled to be unveiled during the Festival’s Block Party, Friday, May 16.
“This was a fun, new event that really supported our efforts to go green at this year’s Festival, as well as tie into the overall theme of this year’s artwork. We received 46 entries and unfortunately that is not enough to cover the parts needed for the conversion,” said Janet Wright, President/CEO of Wichita Festivals, Inc.
The entry fee was $20.00 and included a Riverfest button. Monies received were to go to cover the cost of the parts, equipment, supplies, services, etc. needed for the conversion and any additional vehicle enhancements.
Wichita Festivals, Inc. will be refunding $15 of the registration fee to those that signed-up for the contest.2008 WFI Official Sponsors: AirTran Airways, Broadview Hotel, Bud Light, Don Hattan Chevrolet, Fahnestock Plumbing, HVAC & Electric, Jajo Inc., Jet Digital Printing & Signs, Johnson Controls, Metro Courier, NetVision Technologies, Pepsi, Prairieland Partners (formerly Conrady Western) and Van Horn Promotion & Marketing.
